I’m Courtney and I created this website because I love to sew! I taught myself how to sew. I’m not the best seamstress, but I am learning. I am going to share my knowledge with you along the way. Thanks for stopping by!

Stitching Hour Mission:

I always liked to sew, but I never fit the mold of a seamstress, you know, the perfect mom, the doting grandmom, the couture fashionista. I don’t fit any of those molds. But I still like to sew. I like fabric, cool patterns, art and things that are lovely.

Making Sewing Cool

Sewing is cool. I see sewing as something that can be so cool, because it is cool to me. I have a lot of crazy ideas that I believe I can communicate through sewing. Sewing is art to me and it is a form of expression. I think anyone can learn to sew if they want to. I think anyone can use sewing to express themselves and to fill the need to create that many of us artists have. I don’t think people should be ashamed or afraid to sew because it is something that grandmoms do. I started sewing in my 20s and I always thought, well that’s not a practical normal thing for me to do as a 20 year old. So I would forget about it for a while and my sewing machine would get dusty.

Getting Serious

Now I am 35 and I have nothing to lose. I am going all in with my sewing hobby, grandma’s watch out! I’m making clothes, quilts, face masks, hats, you name it, I am going to make it. So stick around, grab your sewing needle and if you love sewing too, join me for the ride!
